Recent graduates from architecture, engineering, and related design programs are invited to apply to the 20-month ADC Fellowship. They will gain hands-on experience and leadership skills, and emerge with human-centered, high-impact design approaches to compete in the global marketplace.
Classroom-based lectures and workshops help fellows build their technical skills in software, design, professional practice, and theory. Additional workshops in storytelling, social justice, international development, and leadership provide diverse and critical skills that are delivered by practitioners, academics, and visiting thought-leaders.
Intensive, design-build experience is the cornerstone of the program. Under the guidance of program faculty, fellows navigate the entire design and construction process to complete a primary school in Rwanda, working hand-in-hand with the community they are building with.
Alongside the design-build project, leading academics will support fellows to pursue research on pressing issues of urbanization, climate change, and social equity. They will produce published thought leadership and exhibitions, which are targeted at influencing policy makers. Fellows pursue applied research initiatives focusing on building materials and technology. Working alongside master fabricators they produce innovative and sustainable building materials and products.
